At Big Girl School


Leaving Big Girl School

Claire is starting her new preschool soon so we went over there this morning for her to meet her teacher and class. She has been so excited to start big girl school and finally got to go inside today. Needless to say, she loved it and cried when I told her it was time to leave and cried all the way home. It was so sad, but I'm so excited that she loves her school. They welcomed her with open arms and she already has a friend there so she felt right at home. After we'd been there for about five minutes she looked at me and said "Mommy, aren't you going to work today?".
We stayed for music hour and she was asked to come up in front of all the kids in the preschool with her friend and they held the flag for the pledge and she performed a song with her class in front of everyone. She introduced herself to all the kids as "Fantastic Claire" (which is what they tell all the kids to say). After all that the teacher looked at me and said "there's not a shy bone in her body". The kids hugged her when it was time to leave, even though she was bawling crying at that point because she wanted to stay. Mommy had a few tears too. My baby is growing up and she was so confident, friendly and comfortable with the kids. She is truly amazing and I'm so excited for all the great friends and experiences she will have at her new school. Love you Claire Bear!
